Jazz
A high-energy, expressive dance style that combines traditional ballet technique with contemporary moves. It focuses on sharp turns, big leaps, unique footwork, and dancing to upbeat, popular music.
Tap
A rhythmic style where dancers wear specialized shoes with metal plates on the toe and heel. The dancer essentially becomes a percussionist, using their feet to strike the floor and create intricate sound patterns and rhythms.
Ballet/Technique
The foundational bedrock of almost all dance forms. It is characterized by highly structured, precise movements, graceful lines, and a focus on core strength, balance, alignment, and flexibility.
Acro/Gym
A discipline that seamlessly blends classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. Dancers focus on strength, flexibility, and balance to perform tricks like cartwheels, handstands, and aerials right on the dance floor.
Hip-Hop
A vibrant, high-energy style rooted in street dance culture. It incorporates a wide variety of moves like popping, locking, breaking, and free-styling, typically performed to hip-hop or R&B music.
